Our Story

Austin Sewing Machines & Quilting

Austin Sewing was first established in 1953, over 65 years ago! The oldest in Central Texas and long time leader in the industry. Bob Clark took over ownership in 1984, while it still resided in its original location on the corner of 9th and Red River in the heart of Austin, TX. Bob and his wife, Ruth Clark, have kept the store family owned and operated ever since. Having moved several times and having multiple active storefronts at one point, Austin Sewing has settled in Round Rock, TX. In the Renaissance Square Shopping Center in a 9,000+ sq ft store, you can still get quality service backed by decades of experience.

Austin Sewing has participated in many community projects over the years. For example, the store has been a Project Linus collection point for years. For the past 20 years, they have made trips to Central America to donate loads of used, traded-in machines. They have also donated used machines to groups that have sewing projects designed for different local charities and they have been volunteers for mission trips with their church.
